"I've seen how easy one can destroy a child's mind;
I've seen how easy one can destroy a child's spirit;
I've seen how easy one can destroy a child's soul;
I've seen how easy one can destroy a child's hopes;
I've seen how easy one can destroy a child's dreams;
I've seen how easy one can steal a child's innocence;
I've seen how easy one can break a child's heart;
I've seen the anguish, the pain, the heartache, the sorrow, the shame, the guilt, the fear, the loneliness, the struggles, the anger, the regret, the denial, and the confusion of grown up people tormented by their broken child within.
Yet, despite what I've seen, I believe that a determined spirit can overcome the most troublesome, and heavy-hearted obstacles; and that the scars worn by many, as reminders of bitter yesterdays, and hopeless tomorrows, may be diminished by kindness, compassion, and love of other caring hearts.
I believe that even the deepest cut can be healed with strength of will, and determination of spirit. I believe that anything is possible; therefore, everything important is worth fighting for!
After what I've seen, it's in these things that I must believe, if I am to believe that life is worth living."
